Péquignot-Keith

Being born in a 140-year-old French lineage of interior designers and artists predestined me to be a designer myself, and yet, this is not where I started my career.

Pushed by a strong desire to expand my horizon and explore new cultures, I started a business career that took me to Switzerland and then the United States. Throughout this journey, I was exposed to different lifestyles and new esthetic codes. My blooming career as a corporate executive resulted in my moving sixteen times and owning eleven places! Each new house or condo providing me with an exciting opportunity to finetune my efficiencies, design and space optimization skills. New cultures also gave me the chance to apply my inherited house remodeling skills to fit in each new environment.

My Péquignot family, operated four high-profile stores and businesses in Paris for over 100 years, offering interior decoration, upholstery, antiques, and Italian contemporary designs. When I was growing up, I remembered watching and learning from my mother, aunts, brother, uncles, and cousins as they decorated the finest Parisian apartments. I can still vividly picture my brother sorting though hundreds of impressive silk tassels to apply on grandiose custom-made red velvet draperies in the French parliament chambers. I can still see him and his crew clinging to high-ceiling room walls and upholstering them with delicate Thai silk. My head was filled with this vast landscape of shapes, textures, smells, and colors.

My mother bravely expanded the Pequignot’s heritage with her a gift for discovering the most avant-garde designs and successfully introducing them to the French market, many of which are now on display in the MOMA-NYC (Zanotta, Brionvega, Artemis etc..). She was part of an avant-garde dynasty of French creators and artists in 1970’s, such as Manual Canovas, Yvaral or Yves Taralon with whom I was fortunate to have known.

My design proposition is a cocktail of rich inherited artistic exposure allied with exceptional organizational skills and practicality that have been tested and finetuned across a rich career in a variety of cultures and countries. Primarily, my design aims to fit YOUR way of life, and assist you in creating comfort and beauty in Your Home. I am looking forward to collaborating with you, bringing some “Joie de Vivre” to your home, and rewarding your eyes – and your visitors’ - with the beauty that only sensible design can bring.
